I have this one memory of a story I read, can anyone tell me where it's from please?

Bodie and Doyle are invited to a club by another couple, IIRC, to see the star act: a guy with really long hair, who performs alone on stage.
Later at a party, this guy sits next to Doyle and chats to him, and Doyle hopes this makes Bodie jealous.
