I was talking to [livejournal.com profile] draycevixen in her post about fandoms about AUs.

Here is my discussion with her:

Do you know of any? Non-explicit AUs, that is? :)

I can't think of any specifically gen AUs offhand, but I don't know the Prosfanfic gen fic, and I'd imagine that's where you'd find them if they exist... Pros is and has been such a slash fandom, so most fic/AU fic I can think of is focussed around that (depending how non-explicit you want it to be, too...)

What do you mean exactly with non-explicit?
They can be a couple, but the relationship isn't the main theme of the story?
Or the sex? Don't you like the explicit sex scenes?

Jaicen once gave me the tip to read Legacy of Temptation by Ellis Ward. And she is a gen author. Maybe your tastes are similar?
I love the story! It's aslo a bit weird, because it's a ghost story. ;-)
But there is sex...

I'm not trying to ask for something that isn't there, just if it IS there, and I didn't know it. :-)
Oh yeah, I know - and it might be that someone else thinks of one (for instance I do know and love Cowley's Irregulars, but I'd forgotten about it - also I tend to read things as slash whether there's a sex scene or not, the same way as I view the eps, so I tend not to think of stories I like as labelled "gen" cf "slash" in many ways. I just thought you might like to know they might not exist rather than that people were ignoring your question... *g*

The Larton Chronicles by Rhiannon is a charming AU series, set in a Cotswold village with Doyle as a writer and Bodie a horse-mad Irish soldier. It's slash but totally non-explicit and very witty. It may, though, only be available as a zine.

Now see, why oh why did I not think of this as a non-explicit AU?! And in fact all Rhiannon's stories are non-explicit, though definitely slash - though none, sadly, are online there's a couple on the Proslib CD: Rhiannon's stories (http://www.palelyloitering.com/Authors/Rhiannon.htm).

Actually Irene tends to be non-explicit too, I think - though again, zine-only... Irene's stories (http://www.palelyloitering.com/Authors/Irene.htm).

The ProsLib CD can be ordered via the ProsLib archivists (http://hatstand.slashcity.net/proslib/intro.html) (if you get stuck, email [livejournal.com profile] hagsrus who's one of them! *g*)

Irene's stories are in the Roses and Lavender zines (Allamagoosa Press) are found here... (http://www.palelyloitering.com/sources/Allamagoosa%20Press.htm). Reports say that service tends to be incredibly slow but usually gets there eventually. There's more information about the publisher at [livejournal.com profile] loiteringpalely, if you're a member...

It's available from Gryphon Press in the UK, who are very efficient. I don't have ordering details to hand, but you may be able to find them on one of the Pros comms. Or, if you belong to the Proslib mailing list, there will be details in their files.

Good luck!
