Following the „More discussion, please“ I`m still looking for a story, where a foreign bystander from somewhere in America or the Commonwealth – or even better a non-english-native speaker - tells a story about the lads in the most horrible english there is (just like me, trying to write here). It`s seems to be so much enjoyable to read all the stories, when you`re NOT an english native speaker, because we will never know these little differences. For the same reason I never tried very hard to find Pros fanfiction in german.
In my only other fandom (From Eroica with love) one of the heros is an Earl from England and the other one is from Germany. So most of the english or japanese speaking writers try to squeeze at least one sentence in german in every story and: 99% make no sense at all. Even if they use only one word, they manage to spell it wrong, use the wrong gender, ignore the capital letters…. The german readers suffers with a lot of tolerance!

I feel your pain! My German is pathetically rudimentary bordering on non-existent, but I would beg writers on my knees (well, sort of) to get any phrases in languages they don't know (or don't know well) checked by a native speaker. My (anti)-favourite was the profoundly traumatic experience of reading "venga para mi" - come, i.e. move towards "my" (not "me") - when the writer meant to say "come for me" (i.e. experience orgasm on my say-so - an expression I happen to loathe, but that's beside the point). These three words also manage to pack in two more mistakes, in addition to being completely wrong in the first place - the writer has made the speaker use formal Ud. instead of informal tu (a bit odd, considering the characters are having sex at the time) and has omitted the accent on mí. I read this ages ago and it still makes me squirm - so please allow me to bang my head on the desk beside you!

I've got to admit that I'm a bit confused! Is it a specific story you're looking for, that you remember reading? Or is it just any story that's written in really bad Brit-English you want?!

Oh, how about this one? http://www.thecircuitarchive.com/tca/archive/7/spotteddick.html
(not a serious, full-fledged exploration of misunderstandings - just a laugh about US vs UK words)
