I'm looking for a fic that I read recently, but I have no clue as to where. Doyle has left CI5 and is now a senior officer in the police force.
There has been a spate of killings of gay men and in the hope of getting cooperation from the gay community, Doyle sets up an interview with a magazine where he 'outs' himself. He tell's the story of losing his own lover, Bodie, during an op and how it affected him.
The published story goes to press and the gay murder case is solved, but Betty unexpectedly contacts Doyle to tell him that Bodie DIDN'T die, but he was very badly injured to the point of being crippled. Bodie got Cowley to agree to tell Doyle that he died so that Doyle would be free to pursue a future without having to care for his injured lover.
Doyle and Bodie are reunited, with Doyle having a good yell at Bodie for being so stupid!
Many thanks in advance :-)
