Cade crossover

HI, I'm after an old crossover where the lads had been together (as a couple) for over 12 years ("More than most marriages"). However, a threatening character from the past turns up and Cowley decides for their safety and security that they must be split. Doyle is sent to some European country where he adopts the alias Alan Cade. He's kidnapped by the old threat and tortured by him. Cowley then sends Bodie in to rescue him. Any ideas please?

Morning! Okay, this one doesn't entirely ring a bell. But it sounds interesting. There are twenty-six stories listed as crossovers with The Chief on the Hatstand's crossover story list. Could it be one of them?

I think I asked you and a few others about this one a couple of years ago at MK but no one knew then either. I'm pretty sure it's not any of the Hatstand stories having done the Hatstand project earlier this year. I remember it being quite long and I've read all the long stories on the CD.. It was however put online. It was the first story I ever found on the Internet circa 1999.

I do remember you asking about stories I didn't know, yes. Hmm. Okay, then. It must be one of the stories that are now no longer online. Might it have been by an author called Tavaran? She took her stories down and had them removed from the CD. Drop me an email about them to remind me, and I'll dig them out.

Oh, and there are links to Pros stories that are (or were) not on the Hatstand or the Circuit Archive in the early postings at Dreamwidth's Pros comm, CI5. Perhaps you'll strike it lucky and find a link there. The tag - 'pros stories not on hatstand or circuit' - doesn't work, but if you start with July 2009 and work forward, you should find them all.

It's the only one I knew where Doyle is tortured. Only that it isn't Cowley who sends Bodie for rescue. It's a coincidence that it's Bodie comes to rescue.

Thanks Macklingirl, funnily enough, I downloaded this story just a few days ago though the writer used a different name so I never realized it was Brenda Antrim which is great as I love her. Sadly though, it is not the story I'm after :(
