Stranded Lads?
Feb. 26th, 2011 09:20 amIn another post, I was asking about shipwrecked (or otherwise stranded) lad stories, and
heliophile_oxon said the following:
"There's one where they get stranded on a tiny island in the Aegean, I think, and have to eat a seagull and suchlike before they eventually escape. Ring any bells?"
Does anyone know this one?
Or any others?

and he is stranded on an island while Doyle thinks Bodie is dead. The story is from Doyle's POV so you actually don't get to read about what Bodie did to survive on the island. I'm not sure whether this story is available online. The story is Silent Star by Elizabeth Holden and is in the Motet Opus 2 in B & D zine.
Slightly off-topic.... do you think I need to do "SPOILERS" warnings when posting in the ProsFinder LJ? I put them in just in case for this post but I wasn't sure if I needed to or not.

Date: 2011-02-27 01:38 am (UTC)And I checked the user info and it doesn't say anything about spoiler space.
I don't think it's needed, since we post spoilers all the time, by listing what we remember about a story, so we can find the title. :)

Date: 2011-02-27 09:19 am (UTC)I was also trying to think of the desert-island story I always remember, but I couldn't (*headdesk*) - turns out it was Marooned, mentioned up above! *g*
And ETA again (sorry) to say that I've started a Shipwrecked storylist (http://www.palelyloitering.com/Story%20Lists/Shipwrecked%20Storylist.htm) over at Palelyloitering (http://www.palelyloitering.com/index.html) - thanks for the prompt to do it! *g*

Date: 2011-02-27 05:04 pm (UTC)And I really like those themed lists!
They are just the thing when in the mood for something specific.
Thanks for creating them. :)
