[identity profile] towerbridge2006.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] prosfinder
I just finished reading The Tangled Web, a lovely, angsty, sexy crossover fic, and I'm looking for more good Pros/The Chief crossovers. I know I read a thing or two some years back, but I don't remember authors or titles. What's out there?

Help, please? :) Thanks!

One really quick way is to go to the circuit archive and on the search page click on crossover in the category section and in the story notes justacat has included which ones are crossovers with The Chief or also on the search page in the pairings there is Bodie/Alan Cade option.

Young Man's Fancy, and Bodie and the Chief are both favorites of mine. I like this pairing, just as you do.

I don't know if you have the first "Motet" zine (http://www.palelyloitering.com/zines/motetfornewvoicesinbandd.html)? I just read it for the first time and was amazed at the brilliance of Tash's "No Floaties, Please, We're British" - I was literally rolling around laughing - it's the funny side but also very very sexy and wonderful. Write me at paris7am at gmail dot com?

Did you know there was a sequel to Tash's "No Floaties"? It's called "An Inn, A Conference, and a Vast Echoing Absence of Floaties" and can be found in Motet Opus 3. Written by Tash.

An Inn, A Conference, and a Vast Echoing Absence of Floaties by Tash (Motet Opus 3) This is another favorite of mine: Bodie figures out a way to plant a bug on Cade when Cade is at a conference, and while he's in front of 300 guys and can't move, Bodie gives him aural sex to make him squirm. Tis brilliant.

The Proslib CD is a treasure trove of Pros, so it can be hard to prioritize which aspect to explore first - but it does repay a thorough examination with untold riches! Definitely go through all the associated story lists and other informational bits - it's well worth the time.

(Sorry about the deleted post. I forgot to include the Hatstand link and LJ won't let you edit comments, so I deleted and reposted. I didn't think there was time inbetween the delete/repost for anyone to see the post and respond. You're fast!)

The amount of Pros stories can be overwhelming, which is why I'm so glad that Pros has had a number of organizationally inclined women over the years who have collected and preserved stories and developed story lists, indices, databases, reviews, rec pages and websites to make tackling the stories easier.

Yep, sorry about the deleted post dirupting the comment threads. I know that LJ is at least partially concerned about revisionist history and trolling if ccmments could be edited, but it's annoying as the only times I want to edit comments is to correct typos or add in a forgotten link.

Crossovers - Pros/The Chief

For various story lists on a multitude of subjects - including crossovers! - as always, I would point folks to the fantastic story lists that are available in the Proslib files (via Yahoo mailing list) and on the Proslib CD, and online at the Hatstand Archive. The story lists include info on zine-only stories, Proslib CD-only stories, and online stories.

Crossover story list at The Hatstand Archive:
http://hatstand.slashcity.net/lists/crosses.html

Keep in mind that the story lists in the Proslib files & on the Proslib CD are the more complete versions. In an abundance of caution, the story lists available online at the Hatstand Archive only include author names when the authors have given permission to archive their stories there. Not listing author names routinely on the story lists available online is done to protect the privacy of authors who may not want their names or pseuds on the net.

So when I want a quick memory jog and I'm away from my own computer, I'll use the online version of the story lists. But I use the Proslib files/Proslib CD versions as my default.

Here are 26 crossover stories featuring Pros/The Chief (some of the zine stories have recently been added to the online archives):

Alone in the Wilderness by Elessar (No Holds Barred 16)
Best of Intentions by Ann O'Nimus
Bodie and the Chief by Anne Higgins (Variations on Theme of B&D)

Be sure to check out the Fusion and Non-Professionals Characters story lists as well as the crossovers. The Fusion story list has stories where Bodie & Doyle's roles are are inspired by other media sources including songs, but aren't really crossovers. So the Fusion list has things like stories Professional Dreamer (inspired by American Dreamer).

Non-Professionals Characters story list includes stories where the main characters are inspired by roles that Shaw, Lewis, and/or Jackson played rather than Bodie and Doyle from Pros (which can share some traits with the Fusion list). So here you'll find stories like those inspired by Facelift (e.g. The Master of Revels, with Zax and Bodie-clone). Some are also cross-listed on the crossover list, where you have non-Pros roles involved with Pros characters, like Bodie/Alan Cade from The Chief.

Pros Fusion Story List (remember to check the Proslib versions!):
