Story help

All I remember about this one, hoping I didn't imagine it (*g*), is Bodie and Doyle and a third man they are trying to bring in (I don't recall if he was a villain or a man they were protecting) driving back to London and the weather is bad and they have an accident with the car and Ray is hurt (head injury, I think). They hole up somewhere away from civilization. Bodie is worried about Ray. Not much to go on, I know, but anyone recall this?

Not exactly what you've mentioned, but in this one Bodie and Doyle are chasing a third man. Doyle is hurt (head injury) and is sick. Bodie leaves Doyle in a burned-out house to search for help.

Could it be Fire by PFL?

There is a car crash, a head injury, the lads are holed up somewhere away from civilization and Bodie is worried about Doyle. Not really sure if it's the one you're looking for but it is a great story nonetheless.

You're right - that is a great story! But not the one I'm thinking of (or beginning to think I imagined or combined with other stories!) The one I remember has them spending a bit of time driving in the car witha third person. I think someone causes the accident and drives away... Maybe I'm losing my mind! *g*

I recall a story where Bodie and Doyle have completed a mission in Scotland, delivering someone somewhere, and are lent a car by a policeman and intend to drive to his uncle's croft, which is empty because his uncle is currently in hospital, to stay for a few days.

The weather is atrocious and there has been a landslide and the car goes off the road in the dark. Bodie is severely injured himself - a shoulder I think - but manages to dismantle the back seat of the car and drag it to the croft. Doyle is severely injured and has to be fastened to it to immobilise him.

The telephone is out but the young policeman and Cowley eventually go to the croft and find them. The young policeman is portrayed as a very thoughtful and resourceful man if I recall correctly.

I hope this is the story that you are looking for. It could be in hatstand.slashcity.net as I having been reading stories A - H recently or I may have read it in someone's live journal.

I read that one too and it is wonderful. I read it on AO3 and its called "The End is Where We Start From" by finnhere2. Unfortunately it isn't the one I'm looking for. :-( I'm beginning to think I dreamed this one up. Maybe I should take a stab at writing this *g*
