Help find:Bodie was thought dead in explosion

1) I just watched Chicago Fire and the show made me want to read this story. A house exploded and Bodie was in it. Doyle tried to get to Bodie but was held back by the other agents. When Doyle realized that Bodie was gone, he just went limp and collapsed at the scene.Doyle was devastated. Anyway, they soon knew Bodie was still alive, however the bad guy tied Bodie up again and planned to set a bomb at the house Bodie was in.
I think the bad guy is someone from Doyle's past . Ooo...I hope it is slash


2) Just want to join in the fun. Recs needed for Doyle leaves and Bodie chasing after him story.

eta: Apparently I had mixed two stories into one. The explosion part was indeed from Phoenix Rising but the tied up part, bomb setting, cat and mouse chasing game was in another story. I still need help finding it. It could be from a CD. Help..

Yeah..Bodie does get tied up a lot :P ...and in those both fics too.

The second story also reminds me of a Starsky/Hutch episode, where the caller always give a clue via phone in the phone booth, and had Doyle looking for Bodie everywhere, and the final scene had the bad guy wanted Doyle to see Bodie in an explosion right in front of him again whilst knowing he was running out of time to save Bodie. Bodie was on the second floor of the house surrounded with mannequins? I think Doyle got to shoot him. And he really was a nutter.

Oh man.. I'm not helping any :(

Good lord. I didn't notice this reply last year. Thank you for the help but it wasn't it :(. The desperation in Doyle was similar to the second fic I was trying to find. The bad guy threatened to kill Bodie with a bomb, not by the noose.

I still I hope I'm not imagining the latter fic.

This absolutely definitely has to be it. 'As The Night Closes In'. It is not online, but it is on the Proslib CD (DVD, these days). On the CD it is labelled as being by one author, but the 'title database' list there says it's anonymous. It is in the 'disk 25' folder, and it has all the elements you describe.

When I read your initial description, this is the story I immediately thought of. And I have just stumbled across it again, and thought, 'Wasn't someone asking about this a little while ago...?'

Apparently a little longer than 'a little while ago' - nearly two years! - but in case you are still hunting... :)

Auww.. I can't believe someone still remembers me asking this, and yes I'm still searching for it. Thank you for taking the time to find this particular post, I can't believe it' hasbeen two years!
