Help please

.....on a story I used to know quite well but whose title defeats me. It involves Bodie and Doyle minding a very objectionable woman (neither of them can stand her) who is awful to everyone including her maid, but still flirts with our lads. After the minding job is over she manages to worm her way into one of their apartments on some kind of pretext and Bodie ends up having sex with her on a couch (to humiliate her) while looking at Doyle all the time. I read it many years ago so it's not a new story and might be by Sebastian but I can't remember and would really appreciate being put out of my misery. Thank you.

Is it that one? I know Whisper fairly well and it never occurred to me it could be that one. I can remember a woman (a foreign agent, I think) who comes back from the pub with Bodie and is planning to kill him and later on in the story when Cowley, Bodie and Doyle go to see Bodie's sister in Liverpool.. It's a long story, though, and there's loads I've forgotten so I'll go and look. Thank you so much and for the rapid response!

That's why I said 'this scene' and 'part of' - there's an awful lot in that story, and if you have forgotten, there is plenty more you didn't mention waiting for you. :)

You're absolutely right! I just did a 'find' on the story selecting the word 'maid' and it came straight up. Memory's a funny thing, I was sure it was a Sebastian story. Thank you so much, this site is like having a rapid response team!
