As for the jacket, to the best of my recollection, Bodie did wear a jacket of similar colour and cut in "The Untouchables" (one of the scenes in the club bar) and "Blood Sports" but it was suede, not leather.

No, the doll is not a BJD, it's merely a 12 inches Ken from Mattel. He's not mine, the pic comes from eBay were I'm trying to find adequate clothes for my Little Lads.
I found the jacket in The Untouchables, the cut is similar but it is much less aggressively red than this one. So my Little Lad will have to wait until I find a more adequate one.

Ah. Ken dolls did not look like that (the lips and brushable hair especially) when I was little!

Have you thought of *making* clothes? I make/dress 6" (1:12) model (clay and pipecleaner) dollshouse dolls and there are some excellent pattern books available for their clothes. And market stalls or Remnants bins in fabric shops can supply adequate materials quite cheaply.

I'm pretty sure I've seen pattern books for BJDs and "fashion" (Barbie, Ken etc) dolls, too.

(OOOOH! Inspiration! Project for 2015: Bodie, Doyle and Cowley. I think I have some scraps of leather and I know I have corduroy and velvet... Hmmm. Thanks. :D)

If you intend to sell them, you may have a few customers among us. I am personally unable to sew a simple button and I admire the talented people who can cut and adjust realistic and fitting costumes (especially men suits or leather jackets).

By any chance do you know how I could turn a doll's grey hair into some pale (Cowley-ish) ginger? (acetone?).

Personally, rather than try to alter existing hair, I'd scalp the doll with a craft knife and make a new wig for him.

For curls/waves wind the wigging around knitting needles of different thicknesses (depending on curl size) and dampen with boiling-water/steam and allow to dry slowly. For Doyle, for example, you'd make a long ringlet and cut it into individual curls. Some people wig onto a clingfilm base wrapped around the head as it is easier to get rid of if it all goes wrong.

If you are willing to wait until February when I'll order supplies for myself (and let me have your address) if you only want a couple of packets of wigging I'll add them to my order and post them on to you. £1.20 for wigging isn't worth the P+P otherwise!
