I'm trying to remember which story this scene comes from. Not much to go on, but I have faith in you guys!!

Bodie and Doyle are on the outs. Bodie is leading a operation to capture some villain and doesn't want Doyle along. But Doyle shows up anyway and Bodie assigns him a low level watcher's task. Doyle ignores the orders and the operation is blown, the baddies get away. Anyone know where this scene came from?

I think it could be "A Game for Two Players" by Jane. It is in the circuit archive http://www.thecircuitarchive.com/tca/archive/4/agame.html
I hope the link will work. And it is Art AO3 but I don't have the link yet.

Jane is on A03? Or did you mean there's art based on that story on A03? Fascinating, fandom-wise, if it's the first! *g*

I think that would be one of the Boys In Chains archive stories that were moved to AO3 - they contacted me to confirm it was ok to use Safety again. I don't know if Jane has confirmed hers.

I'm glad I popped back to see the other comments, I'd been wondering about permissions, cos I thought one of the points of A03 was that things couldn't be archived online without permission... I guess if they're online to start with it's different, but I hope they're holding to the other... I wonder if they could have got in touch with Jane - didn't she pretty much delete any trace of her Jane-self when she was extensively filing off serial numbers? Perhaps not...!

I suppose she's contactable via the Mel Keegan site - don't recall what it is - but whether she'd respond, who knows!

I didn't mean Art, but lj and my tablet gone crazy on me. I wanted to say that it is "AT" AO3. Sorry for making things complicated.

Oh, don't apologise - I was just surprised that anything of Jane's was up at AO3, because as far as I remembered authors had to put their own stuff up, and as far as I knew Jane left Pros fandom in rather a flurry way back in... oh, 2006 or so, and started changing her stories into non-fandom stories so that she could publish them. So I just wondered if anything had changed... *g*
