Anyone know where ILWB's stories are? Her website is error 404 and the stories have been removed from AO3 and Auto Hatstand. I can't remember the name of the story I am looking for. Doyle is in hospital due to a motorcycle accident and Bodie isn't allowed to visit (initially) because he is not related, even though they are domestic partners. I am pretty sure it is one of ILWB's stories.

I am sure she still has copies herself, but yes, she rather reined in where she was publishing to some time ago. Not sure her vids are all around either, and her old smudgers comm here has gone.

Moral, as I found when looking for someone else's work on AO3 a while ago, which was also vanished: if you see it on AO3 or Auto Hatstand or anywhere authors can continue to edit their work, and you like it, download it on sight. Just in case. Alas :(

I have saved many of her stories - because I love them, but I can't remember this one. Sorry!

I don't know if authors know, how sad it is to delete their stories. :-(
Once published somewhere, all stories are part of fandom history.

Yes! Exactly, I absolutely agree with you! (though it's ok to go back and fix spelling mistakes *g*)

The fact that I have a rather rickety computer and sometimes a very rickety internet connection has kind of turned out to be an ill wind with a silver lining of sorts, in the sense that it got me at least partially into the habit of downloading things I liked - as I knew I could find myself unable to continue reading online at the drop of a hat (and not even a red hat, at that, since I only have windoze *g*).
I don't think I know off-hand of anyone who has taken work down, but I know I would feel gutted if that happened :-(((

I'm so glad I did right this. I have 98% of the stories which are in AO3 downloaded as epub and now I'm working at the download from Auto Hatstand.

That's impressive!

It's such a shame when authors take their work down, but sometimes they feel vulnerable leaving them up.

I love stories, but people have to come first.

Yes, people have to come first, thats right.

I'm a collector, not a hunter. And so I collect everything I fancy. And I try to download as much of the stories as possible because sometimes I don't have access, but like to read a Pros-story. And than it is nice to have them in my reader. :-)

Yes, limited in my use of the internet at work.

I could use my 'phone, but my tariff couldn't keep up, so I download as the easiest and cheapest option and read them on my tablet.

Apparently, reading gay porn isn't the issue, work just doesn't want you using their computers to do it!
From: [identity profile] macklingirl.livejournal.com
Oh, no no! I would never use my computer at work for this! It would be a reason to kick you out of the job.

No, I have a computer at home but I don't have a computer in our garden or when I lie in my bed or in the bathtub in hot water. And I want to read in the most moments. :-)

I wouldn't take my computer on holiday, but I took my tablet and had a lovely time reading downloaded goodies :0)

Like it, download it on sight

Such good advice. I have lots of things saved to links, but the stuff I really don't want to mislay, I've downloaded (which includes some of ILWB's vid's).

Pity I can't download it all!

Would Pros Lib have a copy anywhere?

The story sounds vaguely familiar, but I can't place it. I may be thinking of something else...

I think it must be Common Law.

We have it in Proslib. Send me a note if you need a copy of the story.

I think it's something like Common Law? I may have a copy somewhere, if nobody else can help - at the moment I've just got my index of saved fics, not the actual old disk they're saved on, but from my note to myself, it sounds like the one.

What about the Wayback Machine, or have you already poked over there? I hate when things get taken down, though I completely understand why somebody moves on/becomes uncomfortable.

A good number of them are on Proslib if that helps.

I thought it might be - I keep a note of things I've got squirreled away, and it sounded right. As long as you can get a copy - yay!
